Mission Summary

What begins as a routine medical anomaly on Lathira IV unfolds into a complex, multi-layered crisis that tests the USS Arawyn across every discipline.

The first signs are subtle—children presenting with symptoms of a long-eradicated virus despite full vaccination. As cases grow, Starfleet medical teams uncover a deeper truth: the vaccine itself has not failed. Instead, an unseen environmental contaminant—an industrial polymer leaching into the colony’s water supply—is interfering with immune response at the molecular level.

As the scope expands, the mission becomes a race against time. Medical, Science, and Engineering collaborate to identify the contaminant, stabilize patients, and prevent neurological decline in the most vulnerable. A breakthrough emerges in the form of nanoparticle treatment, offering a viable path to remove the polymer from the bloodstream while work continues to address the root cause.

On the ground, Engineering discovers the source is far more dangerous than expected. Aging infrastructure is not simply degrading—it is being actively broken down by harmonic power fluctuations, creating a feedback loop that accelerates structural decay and spreads contamination throughout the system.

But Silent Inheritance is not only a story of science and survival. Beneath the mission, the crew faces quieter challenges: secrets brought into the light, trust tested within the chain of command, and the personal cost of decisions made in isolation. From late-night confessions to the weight of leadership carried in solitude, the Arawyn’s crew must confront not only the crisis outside the ship—but the fractures within it.

As solutions take hold and the colony begins to stabilize, the mission leaves a lasting imprint—on the crew, on the world they leave behind, and on the understanding that some failures are not sudden, but inherited… waiting to surface.
