| Personal History | Ryan belongs to a relatively wealthy family, who wanted him to carry on the family business. In a fit of family rebellion, he decided to join Starfleet. He passed Starfleet Academy and showed particular aptitude as a Starfleet Officer. He was assigned to one particular science ship-the USS Thysia. Six months into his assignment the ship came under attack from the Borg. While details are sketchy, an investigation soon found that Ryan shot his own superior officer as a mistake. The borg were ultimately repelled and Ryan was arrested for his actions. It was determined that he suffered from PTSD and killed his own supervisor during a moment of panic. An investigation later determined that Ryan was significantly inexperienced for the events that happened and his superior had also made mistakes which resulted in his loss of life. After six months of therapy, Ryan was returned back to active duty. |
