Mission: Arawyn’s Itchy Trigger Finger
Location: USS Arawyn

With her arm in the makeshift sling, Suzanna took control in the Science lab. She scanned the room and spotted Lieutenant rank pips. “Lieutenant,” she called, “You are?”

“Lieutenant Steve Remington, xeno zoologist, Commander.”

“You are temporarily in charge as acting Chief of Science. Until we know what is the situation with Commander Sorvak.”

“Commander, I am also detecting a fractured spine.” The Ensign scanning Sorvak stated.

“You, crewman, run to sickbay and see if transporters are working, tell them we have a fractured spine here.”

“Aye, Ma’am” and off she ran to sickbay.

“Lieutenant, anyone cross-trained in as emergency medic to check on wounded here, and help them to sick bay. Then see what we can with the sensors, to support ops and tactical. We are in an area with unusual radiation, asteroids etc, something has been shooting at us. Anything we can do to help will be appreciated. Coordinate it with the bridge, as soon as comms are back online. Next, try to get this equipment sorted, and find a way to fix it to something, so this doesn’t happen again.”

The crewman she had sent to sickbay came running back, “Sickbay has transporters, they will transport the Commander there as soon as possible.”

“Everyone clear from Commander Sorvak,” Suzanna ordered, she nodded to the medic who was still near but would be out of the range of the transporter. Thirty seconds later, the familiar sound buzzed and the stricken half Vulcan dematerialised from the floor.

“He is in good hands now.” Suzanna stated. She closed her eye for a moment and reinforced her bio control. The arm could be seen to later.

“Corbin to Batenburg.” The Captain’s voice echoed through the Science lab.

“Captain,” came the Suzanna replied after a brief delay. At least comms had been restored, that made so many things so much easier.

“Report.”

“I was in Science when the attack occurred. Minor injuries only. I am en route to the bridge now.” It wasn’t the entire truth, Sorvak’s injuries were not minor, but she hoped it would give the crew in the lab a bit more confidence. Medical was usually able to pull off the impossible. She intended to explain the situation to the Captain on the bridge, if she had not already read it in one of the casualty reports.

“Understood. We will brief on arrival.”

“Aye, Captain.” Suzanna tapped her comm badge to close the channel. “Lieutenant Remington, you are in charge until further notice. If there is anything, I will be on the bridge.”

Remington nodded, and Suzanna carefully turned around, and headed out towards the turbolift. Once inside, on her way up to the bridge, she closed her eyes again, and reasserted her bio control. Suppressing any pain and attempting to immobilise her arm as much as possible as it rested in her makeshift support.

It didn’t take long for the turbolift to arrive, the doors swooshed open and Suzanna stepped on to the bridge. She looked around the stations, noting who was where and what it looked like before she walked around to take her seat next to Corbin, “Captain,” she said and nodded in greeting.
